Partnering to Support Families: Oak & Hive Consulting & Sage Speech

A few weeks ago, I was invited to have lunch with the Sage Speech team and learn more about their incredible practice. Over salads, we shared stories about the real challenges families — and providers — face every day. One of the biggest themes that came up was how siloed providers often feel, even when we’re all working toward the same goal: supporting families.

Being able to sit around the table, dream about change, and talk about how we can build stronger bridges is exactly the kind of work that lights me up. I'm so honored to be featured in their blog post, "A Collaborative Approach: Sage Speech & Nikki Sammet".

Moments like this remind me why connection matters so much — and why I love participating in Lunch & Learns.
If you're a provider or part of a practice who would like to collaborate, host a conversation, or brainstorm new ways to work together, I would love to connect.

Thank you again to Sage Speech for welcoming me so warmly — and for being such passionate advocates for the families we all serve. 🤍

At SAGE Speech & Learning Associates, we know that the best care for our clients comes from a collaborative approach. This week, our speech-language pathologists had the opportunity to meet with

Dr. Nikki Sammet, an Autism Family Navigator and Educational Consultant specializing in post-diagnosis support, to learn about each other’s practices and share insights. These valuable connections strengthen the way we work with children and families, ensuring we provide the most effective and personalized care. Dr. Sammet brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table, offering specialized services that focus on neurodiversity and inclusion. With her background in neuro-affirming practices, Nikki works with families of children with an Autism diagnosis, to connect them with the most effective resources and support systems, empowering families to navigate their child’s unique developmental journey. Through her work, Nikki helps create tailored strategies that foster inclusion and understanding, making a lasting impact on both children and families. Her approach complements our mission at SAGE Speech, as we both share the goal of creating a supportive, compassionate environment for all children.

The benefits of building relationships with other Atlanta-area specialists go beyond simply exchanging ideas. By learning from one another’s local practices and experiences, we can offer a more holistic approach to therapy. These collaborations allow us to stay up to date on the latest research and techniques, improve our communication with other healthcare providers, and most importantly, enhance the support we provide to our clients.

At SAGE Speech, we are always striving to create a network of professionals who work together to meet each child's unique needs. Relationships like the one with Nikki Sammet fuel our commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care that puts the child at the center of everything we do.

By continually learning from and collaborating with other professionals, we ensure that our therapy sessions are not only effective, but also informed by the best practices in the field. This, in turn, leads to better outcomes for the families we serve.”
