The Oak Circle: A Space for Connection, Understanding, and Friendship
When my son was first diagnosed, I felt lost. I didn’t know where to turn, and more than anything, I felt alone. That loneliness hasn’t disappeared — if anything, the need for connection has grown stronger as he’s developed.
But I’ve noticed something powerful: whenever I’m with other parents who truly understand this journey, I feel better. The shared experiences, the knowing nods, the comfort of being with others who just get it — it’s a kind of support I haven’t found anywhere else.
That’s why I created The Oak Circle. It’s a space where parents of autistic children can come together, not just to learn from experts or share resources, but to connect with each other, to feel less alone, and to form meaningful friendships that can make this journey easier.
What I Hope The Oak Circle Will Be:
A Place for Connection: Raising a neurodivergent child can feel isolating, but it doesn’t have to be. Here, you’ll find parents who truly get it — a safe space to share your experiences and hear theirs.
Expert Guidance: Many gatherings will feature professionals who understand neurodiversity and can offer actionable, affirming strategies to support you and your child.
Friendships That Last: Beyond the advice and resources, my hope is for you to walk away with meaningful relationships, knowing you’re not in this alone.
The Oak Circle is launching Spring 2025, and I would love for you to join us as we grow this supportive, understanding community.
