My Story
Three years ago, I thought I was putting my work on hold when my son was diagnosed autistic. I stepped away from my career to focus solely on supporting him, but in truth, I was working the whole time. Looking back, I now realize that I’ve been preparing for this journey my entire life.
Growing up as a girl with ADHD in the 90s, I experienced firsthand what it’s like to feel misunderstood and unsupported. There wasn’t enough research or affirming care back then, and I internalized the belief that my brain wasn’t just different—it was a problem. It took years to unlearn that narrative and embrace who I truly am. When my son was diagnosed, those feelings resurfaced, but I knew I couldn’t let him feel the same way. I wanted him to know that being neurodivergent wasn’t something to hide or be ashamed of.
Over the past few years, as I built a neuro-affirming team for my son, I found myself guiding other parents who felt just as lost and overwhelmed as I had. The more I helped, the more I realized that my life, my struggles, and my professional background had been leading me here all along—to help families navigate this journey with clarity and confidence.
As a mom of two, married to the love of my life, and living just north of Atlanta, I’m now ready to bring everything I’ve learned to others through Oak & Hive Consulting. My mission is to help parents of autistic children (ages 2-6) connect with the right resources, therapies, and support systems. I aim to create a space where families can find relief, connection, and community, and where they can feel empowered every step of the way.
My Background
I bring over 10 years of experience as a professional coach, specializing in life, business, mindset, and performance coaching. I've been a speaker and workshop facilitator, a course educator, and hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, a Masters Degree in Leadership Development, and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (including Education, Psychology, and Sociology).
I spent 5 years in corporate recruiting, onboarding, and building inclusive company cultures—skills that now help me match families with the right neuro-affirming resources. As a podcast co-host and business owner, my goal is to make a lasting impact by supporting families who need it most.
Additionally, I’m passionate about community building. I created Becoming Mama and Beyond, a space for nearly 500 moms during the pandemic. This community included expert-led workshops, support circles, and events designed to connect and empower mothers during challenging times. That experience further fueled my desire to create supportive, community-driven spaces like Oak & Hive Consulting.
I’ve been a transcendental meditator for 26 years, starting at age 10, which has provided me with the mental clarity and grounding needed to navigate life’s challenges. My 200-hour RYT yoga certification has deepened my connection to mindfulness, enabling me to bring a spiritual and balanced approach to everything I do. These practices influence how I support both families and children, creating a mindful, compassionate space that fosters growth, healing, and transformation.
As I continue to grow personally and professionally, I’m more committed than ever to making a difference in the lives of families navigating neurodiversity. Oak & Hive Consulting is the culmination of my journey—a journey that has been deeply influenced by my experiences as a mother, my background in coaching, and my passion for community building. It’s my privilege to now help others find the support, guidance, and resources they need to empower their children and families.
Every family’s path is unique, but with the right tools, support, and community, I believe we can create lasting change. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or looking for guidance along the way, I’m here to walk beside you. Together, we can build inclusive pathways for your child’s future—because every child deserves to thrive, and every parent deserves to feel supported.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I can’t wait to connect with you and help you find the relief, connection, and empowerment you and your child deserve.
