Welcome to Oak & Hive Consulting

Bridging Support, Creating Pathways, & Empowering Parents

About

Oak & Hive Consulting was born out of a deeply personal journey. As a parent of an autistic child, I found myself overwhelmed and alone in the early stages of diagnosis, navigating a sea of information without a clear guide. I realized there was a gap—a bridge needed for families like mine. What started as a search for answers turned into purpose for creating a space where parents feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Guidance not just information

Dr. Nikki Sammet, founder of Oak & Hive Consulting, is an Autism Family Navigator and Educational Consultant specializing in post-diagnosis support. With a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and firsthand experience as a mom to an autistic child, she blends lived experience with professional expertise to help parents navigate post diagnosis life.

Services

Autism Family Navigation

I help parents move from diagnosis to clarity with step-by-step support, actionable plans, and ongoing guidance. Using my trusted, vetted network of neuro-affirming providers, I match families with the right therapies, schools, and resources—so you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Educational Consulting

Finding the right school can feel overwhelming. I help families identify private and independent school options that honor their child’s learning style, needs, and strengths—always through a neurodiverse-affirming lens. With insight into a wide range of programs, I streamline the process and guide families toward environments where their child can truly thrive.

Trainings & Workshops

I offer interactive, neuro-affirming trainings for providers, educators, and parent groups. Sessions focus on inclusive practices, supporting autistic learners, and building collaborative, cross-disciplinary teams that center the child and empower the family.

My Mission

At Oak & Hive Consulting, my mission is to empower parents of autistic children by providing neuro-affirming guidance and resources that bridge the gap after diagnosis.
